Today is Sunday August 13, 2017 and this is show number 640. We’re back from the CMD-D Conference and I’ve got tons to tell you about that. Before we dig in though, I wanted to tell you that the NosillaCast will be coming out early next week, on Wednesday.

Steve and I are off on our eighth trip of the year. We’re going to see the eclipse up in Oregon with Jean MacDonald. We’ve been looking for an excuse to go up and see her for years so this is as good of an excuse as any. We’re going for a full week so we can tour Portland and visit Steve’s childhood home in Tigerd, and then head over to Bend to see the eclipse, and then round it out with a day of wine tasting. I couldn’t leave you in the lurch though, so you’ll still get your show. No live show on Sunday the 20th of course! The following Sunday (the 27th) we’ll be at Lindsay’s house with the baby and two dogs, but we’re still going to try to do a live show from there. Expect anarchy!

Chit Chat Across the Pond

On Chit Chat Across the Pond this week, I’m joined by Patrick Beja, of frenchspin.com. I asked him to come on to talk about the very visible presence of France in technology that I’ve been noticing. The conversation doesn’t go quite the way I expected, we talk about home economics in school and the Japanese work ethic, so it’s a lot of fun. Patrick is a delightful man with deep thoughts surrounded by a great sense of humor. I learn so much from him on his international news podcast, The Phileas Club. I hope you’ll check this episode out in both Chit Chat Across the Pond Lite and the regular Chit Chat Across the Pond feed.

Joe Dugandzic’s Silliness

This next segment has no redeeming educational value, but it made me giggle so I’m going to play it for you. You may remember that back in July, the wonderful Joe Dugandzic had me on the inaugural episode of his new podcast, The Conversation of Things.

He recently sent me an audio clip that he claimed was an incorrect introduction of me from “the cutting room floor” when he recorded that episode. Ok, I told you it had no real purpose, other than to bring a smile.

Blog Posts

NightShift and Invert Colors – Rant + Solution

Patreon and Amazon Affiliate Links

You guys are really going nuts on Patreon. M NicAodha, Andrew Stewart, and Kenneth Knight all signed up this week to put down their hard-earned dollars to support the show. It’s not hard to do, you just go to podfeet.com/patreon (remember all good things start with podfeet.com/) choose a dollar amount per show and then every time a NosillaCast gets published, your pledge goes to support the show. A dollar a show is the minimum when you sign up but you can actually reduce that once you set it up if that’s too much for your family’s budget. I don’t charge the patrons for Chit Chat Across the Pond, that would be a little much I think!

it means so much to me that so many of you find enough value in the show to do this. If this isn’t your cup of tea, keep using the Amazon Affiliate Links on Podfeet.com under the Support the Show button, it really helps a lot too!

CMD-D | Masters of Automation with Sal Soghoian

Split Screen for Books on iPad Pro for Knightwise

That’s going to wind this up for this week.
