Quick follow-up item – remember last week I told you about the inexpensive HomeKit-compatible smart plugs from Meross? The end of my story was that the only thing I found wrong with them was that we couldn’t find anything left in the house to automate. Well, guess what? We not only found two more things to automate but had to buy two more<\/em> Meross smart plugs!<\/p>\n

Barry on Chamberlain’s MyQ Smart Garage Door Opener (no blog post)<\/h4>\n

Barry Fulk joins me to talk about his Chamberlain MyQ Smart Garage Door Opener<\/a>. He talks through the problem to be solved, his struggles getting it to work with HomeKit, and how his awesome wife Bobbi Ann had to smack him over the head to read the manual. H installed the Chamberlain HomeKit Hub<\/a> to get it to work. Since I have the same smart garage door opener, we were able to swap notes on what we like and don’t like about it and discuss how much value it really adds compared to other Home Automation devices we have deployed. We also talk about what kind of automations we’d like to set up, including geofencing and how they could work.<\/p>\n
