Today is Sunday, March 13, 2022, and this is show number 879. This has been a crazy last couple of weeks and I can’t wait to tell you why. I’ve got a great couple of stories to tell you, and Allister Jenks will come in between them with a fun review as a palate cleanser.

https://media.blubrry.com/nosillacast/traffic.libsyn.com/nosillacast/NC_2022_03_13.mp3

mp3 download

CCATP #718 – Adam Engst of TidBITS on Apple’s March Peek Event

Blog Posts

The Apple M1 Family as of March 2022 – a Diagram

Check out Adam Engst’s post on TidBITS where he dives into which Mac will replace the 27″ iMac for you, comparing specs and pricing and a new way to look at the cost of the Studio Display. Which Mac Will Replace the 27-iMac for You?

Poor Steve had been suffering with a 2017 27″ iMac and so we bought him the Mac Studio M1 Max and the Apple Studio Display. When he recorded it for us, he was using a Behringer interface, but since then he has replaced it with the Elgato Wave XLR, and I quote here, “because Marty made us all do it.”

Support the Show

A few weeks ago, as I was explaining the work Bill, Bart, and I were doing to increase the speed of podfeet and that it was costing me more and more money as we added resources to try to fix the problem. The great news is that a fair number of people stepped up to help defray those increased costs. Most of those people were already Patrons, which is even more amazing. Like the spectacular Stephen Ewell who just doubled his pledge to help cover the bills. How cool is that?

The good news is that with the elimination of cPanel from my server, that’s going to save me $15/month. With all the new contributions, it definitely has paid for the increases in cost, but the podcast does definitely still cost me money to produce.
