The service will read all of a patient’s prescription information out loud. ScripTalk is a free, easy-to-use service available at thousands of pharmacies throughout the U.S. and Canada. ScripTalk starts with the pharmacist who programs a small electronic label or tag with all the patient’s prescription information. The tag relies on RFID and text-to-speech technology. The pharmacist places the tag on the prescription medication and the patient can use a free mobile ScripTalk App (available for iOS and Android) to hear all the prescription information read out loud. Alternatively, the patient can use a ScripTalk Station (about the size of an old, portable CD player) by simply placing the pill bottle on the machine and pressing the “Read” button. Medications are spoken in one of 25 available languages. The setting is the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference show floor at the Marriott in Anaheim, CA.

Learn more at https://www.envisionamerica.com

Using a Screen Reader? click here

Allison interviews Amanda Tolson from En-Vision America about their ScripTalk service designed for people who are blind or vision impaired and can’t read their medication labels.
