I think we&#8217;d all agree that it&#8217;s a good thing that it defaults to muted.<\/p>\n<p>When this happens to me, I don&#8217;t want to miss anything so I don&#8217;t fiddle trying to hit the on-screen mute button right away. Instead, I frantically find the pause button and then I try to grab the vertical video slider to get the video back to the starting position. Inevitably, I end up grabbing the Home Indicator\/app switcher bar instead and switching apps. I eventually get the video back to the beginning and only <em>then<\/em> do I unmute with the on-screen mute button.<\/p>\n<p>It drives me nuts every single time.<\/p>\n<p>This weekend I was watching my 4-year-old granddaughter Siena play around on my phone looking at photos. She got to a video that was muted by default, and she instantly hit one of the volume buttons on the phone and the video instantly unmuted!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had every single iPhone ever made and I did not know you could do this!<\/p>\n<p>Siena is hard of hearing and I think volume up for her is an instinctive move on her part but she sure did school me. I hope you like her little Tiny Tip on a quicker way to unmute on your phone when watching videos on iOS.
