Macstock is what a lot of us refer to as “coming home.” It’s the friendliest conference I’ve been to, where you can sit down next to absolutely anyone and strike up a conversation. You’re guaranteed that they’ll be fun and interesting. A lot of the Apple podcasters are there, but there isn’t any kind of a “clique” vibe to the show. Everyone has something to contribute and learn.

Part of that is having the same interests in common. In our real lives, many of our friends and acquaintances don’t want to sit around and talk about writing automations or testing new IoT devices or learning a new trick in Excel, but when you go to Macstock, absolutely everyone wants to hear about those things.

It’s not a very big conference, which allows us to all meet on the same track for every session. I understand why bigger conferences have different tracks, but I always feel like I picked the wrong track, and all the fun must be in the other track. Macstock also has lots of breaks where you can go grab a snack and have casual conversations inspired by something you heard in the conference.

Macstock is held every year in Woodstock, Illinois, which is about an hour north of Chicago, so it’s an easy place to get in and out of. You have two different options on how much of that you want to enjoy.

The weekend pass runs Friday July 10th through Sunday July 12, and costs $500, but if you use the coupon code PODFEET (all caps) you’ll save $50. The weekend pass gets you all main stage sessions and workshops, a free digital pass for on-demand recordings of sessions after Macstock is over, a commemorative t-shirt, and access to Macstock’s official evening activities, and coffee and lunch Friday through Sunday.

I think it’s super fun that so many NosillaCastaways attend Macstock so you can come meet more brilliant people who will become instant friends.

If all that isn’t enough to grab you, on Friday night the 12th, David Pogue will be speaking on stage! How fun is that?

Ok ok, one more thing. You can add Wednesday, July 9th, to your ticket to attend Creator Camp, which is hands-on training with Ecamm by none other than the awesome Doc Rock. Combined with the Macstock weekend pass, this four-day pass is $650. Remember the coupon code PODFEET for $50 off.

I sure hope you’ll consider coming to Macstock this year if you can swing it. You can meet all of the friendly and enthusiastic NosillaCastaways!
