One of his shows is called Let’s Talk Photography, and this month’s episode just came out, and it’s called Travel Photography with Ron and Allison.

I’ve always wanted Bart to meet my friend Ron Burch, and finally came up with a good excuse for it. Ron is a world traveler who does a lot of photography with a big boy camera. He also has a really interesting workflow. While on travel, triages his photos using an iPad, where he also does a small bit of photo editing along the way. At the end of a trip, he’s actually got a curated set of photos instead of a gazillion photos. He even makes these into photo books at the end, and his speed and ability to do this with an amazing number of photos is a great story.

Anyway, check out Let’s Talk Photography 152 through the link in the shownotes, or subscribe in your podcatcher of choice.

Quickly Grab the Perfect GIF with Gnome from Lex Friedman

Apple Health is Worried About Me

CES 2026: Satechi’s New Product Arrivals

As soon as we got home from CES, we bought two of the Satechi FindAll Passport Covers. I bought the peach one for me and the black one for Steve. They’re absolutely lovely and compact, and the vegan leather is soft and delightful in the hand. The Satetchi Passport cover includes slots for a few cards, and maybe some bills folded inside, and your ticket. They were great for our trip to Finland. The Passport cover is $60 from Satechi.

In the interview, you heard me explaining to Manny that we were disappointed in the Find My compatible wallet card because it didn’t warn us when the battery was dying. This was a Rhino key Smartcard, and it died very quickly, which made this an even bigger problem. I had to set a monthly reminder to check the battery on the darn thing. The battery wasn’t lasting more than a couple of months, and it was really difficult to align on a magnetic charger to get it to charge. Other than that, it was great.

Just this week, we finally gave up and replaced it with the Satechi FindAll card. This one is a bit thicker and heavier, but it has a prominent power button on it, and a better light to show that it’s functioning. The speaker volume is 80-90db, which is a lot louder too. Most importantly, they claim the battery will last up to 16 months on a single charge. We’ll find out if that claim is true, but at least it’s a lot easier to align on a MagSafe charger. If you’re interested in the Satechi FindAll Card, it’s $35 direct from Satechi.

Support the Show

This week, the lovely Mike Bromberek sent in a donation. I love the financial support, but I really loved learning why he was inspired to donate. He wrote,

“During the latest NosillaCast section about Finder’s Get Info, you mentioned being able to press Ctrl + a number to set the selected Item to a Tag. I used to have a custom shortcut for setting Tags that broke with macOS 26, so I was really happy to have this shortcut for setting Tags of files with just the keyboard.”

Isn’t that great? If you feel inspired by something I wrote or said, maybe you could be lovely like Mike and go to podfeet.com/donate to make a one-time donation. Thank you, Mike!

When macOS Firmware Goes Bad

Transcript of NC_2026_05_17

That’s going to wind this up for this week.
