NC #1057 Automating Project Folder Structure, Choosing an EV Part 2, Bodie Interviews Grok in his Tesla

Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Sunday, August 10, 2025, and this is show number 1057. Well, Steve and I had a glorious week off playing with Lindsay’s family on Lake Charlevoix in Michigan. It had been a dream of mine to someday go back to where we sailed when I was a child. It was a nice surprise that I recognized so much of the area after 53 years away. I didn’t work on the podcast one bit while I was gone, which was also nice. I’ve still got some great content lined up for the show. We have an interview by Bodie Grimm, the second half of Pat’s EV decision, and I’ve got a new automation story of my own.

Choosing an EV with Pat Dengler — Part 2 (no blog post)

Last week, I left you with a cliffhanger by giving you the first half of a conversation I had with Pat Dengler about choosing a new EV. I took you up right till I said to her, “but your heart was really with …” Let’s pick it up from there.

I know that Pat’s choice wasn’t the same as what you might choose, and in fact, it’s not what I would have chosen, but I hope the process was interesting to you, and maybe shed some light on what features you could look for when you’re ready to go for an electric vehicle. I already had one person ask me for help with making their QFD decision tool, and you know I jumped at the chance.

Bodie Grimm Interviews Grok in His Tesla (no blog post)

Last week, Thomas Mattock conducted an innovative interview with Perplexity AI. Bodie Grimm of the Kilowatt Podcast was inspired by this idea. His Tesla just had Grok enabled in it, which is an AI tool of much controversy, created by the company X.ai. Before you reach for that dial to change the channel, I hope you’ll listen to Bodie’s explanation of why he did this and what features he enabled. His discussion with Grok was pretty interesting. The only thing he missed was that he should have called her “KITT”.

As with Tom’s interview, I took some editing liberties with Grok and Bodie because there were pauses of about 3-5 seconds that would have driven you nuts.

Thanks to Bodie for donating this to the show so I could take time off. This recording is part of the Kilowatt Podcast feed, which you can find at 918digital.com or in your podcatcher of choice. With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s listen to the ever-delightful Bodie talk to his car.

That was great, Bodie. You dropped enough hints that I’ll try to remember next time I’m on your show to say the name of your podcast repeatedly throughout the conversation!
