Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Sunday, January 11, 2026, and this is show number 1079.
This is our first show after the holidays and CES, and I have to say it’s great to be back with the live audience. This year’s CES was just like every other recent CES. We drove out early so we could have breakfast with our dear friend, NosillaCastaway, and my wingwoman in the live chatroom, Sandy. Then we spent the next three evenings going to press events to get interviews for the show.
We spent a lot of time with Dave Hamilton and Pilot Pete of the Mac Geek Gab, and Chuck Joiner and Norbert Frassa of MacVoices, and Bodie Grimm of the Kilowatt Podcast. We even got to have dinner with probably the sweetest man we know, J.F. Brissette, who has the joy of editing all of my ScreenCastsONLINE videos.
We even managed to drop by the show floor in the Las Vegas Convention Center with 180,000 of our closest friends. In other words, exactly as awesome and fun as it’s been for years.
If you haven’t been listening for years, I should explain that Steve will be producing two or three video interviews a week and publishing them on our YouTube channel at podfeet.com/youtube. The audio from these same interviews will be part of the NosillaCast. We don’t want to inundate the audience with too much CES at once, so we string the interviews out over the first few months of the year. We’ve got a great one in this week’s show, and it features Steve instead of me doing the interview. The great camera work is all me.
Allison on DTNS 5179 from CES
Speaking of CES, I had the great pleasure of being a guest on the Daily Tech News Show during the show. Picture this: Tom Merritt, Robb Dunewood, Bodie Grimm, and me at one tiny rectangular table, with producer Anthony Lemos (aka Amos) on the other side and Steve watching … all in the tiniest little recording booth you’ve seen. It really gave me an appreciation for how hard the entire DTNS crew works, and the complexity of what Amos manages with four cameras and mixers and microphones! I put a link in the shownotes to the episode at dailytechnewsshow.com/… where you can watch for yourself.

Manage Water Leaks with Moen Flo Smart Water Monitor — Bruce from Tennessee
Remember how Steve and I had our house recarpeted right before Christmas and how I managed to make it into a tech story (which our friend Norbert made fun of me for)? What I couldn’t find a tech angle to was the story of how the morning after the carpet folks finished, a pipe burst in the wall of our kitchen. The flood didn’t get to the carpeting, thank goodness, but it did go from a small internal leak we didn’t know about to having one wall of our kitchen torn out and a week of construction workers. Small leaks lead to huge problems, and it’s quite possible Bruce from Tennessee has found the solution.

Support the Show
This week, we have two heroes who chose to support the show with their hard-earned dollars. This comes at a good time, as funding the coverage is very expensive, even though we drive ourselves there in an electric vehicle. Hotel prices are crazy high during CES. Anyway … FlyLow1970 went to podfeet.com/donate and bought me some coffees, and Kenneth Kleinmann went to his tool of choice, podfeet.com/paypal to make a very generous donation as well. I can’t thank both of these fine gentlemen enough for showing their appreciation of the work we do here at the Podfeet Podcasts.
CES 2026: Donut Lab Solid State Battery and Motor Integrated into Verge Motorcycle
Thanks for that, Steve – you did such a great job! We do want to point out that Most people are quite skeptical about these rather outlandish claims, so we’ll all have to wait and see if it’s real or vaporware.
