Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Sunday, January 1, 2023, and this is show number 921.
As you can tell, I have my annual laryngitis. But don’t worry, you’re not going to have to listen to this voice for 40 minutes. Last week, I recorded all of the remaining “I’m Still Using It” segments, only to realize the show was far too long. Jill from the Northwoods helped me figure out how to extract those segments from Hindenburg to be played this week. Also, Graeme Sheppard is back with a recording about his photo workflow.
But that still left me reading about 15 minutes with this voice. When Jill from the Northwoods heard from me that my voice was gone yet again, she stepped up and pulled forward to this week a recording she’d planned about her new Schlage smart lock. It takes a village to get this show off the ground, and the NosillaCastaways are the best village around.

I’m super happy to announce Chris Sterns our newest patron of the Podfeet Podcasts. Chris took his hard-earned dollars and went to podfeet.com/patreon and signed up to contribute a monthly amount that showed the value he gets from the work we do here.
Listener John also sent in a donation, and he did it by going to podfeet.com/paypal and doing a one-time donation. To be honest though, he does this from time to time so it’s not really a one-time thing. My favorite part is how he writes nice things when he donates too.
Thank you so much to Chris and John for their continued support of the Podfeet Podcasts.
I love how quickly you convert to new tech, Jill. That’s quite a change you made, but it all makes sense. For those listening, Jill mentioned Meross plugs that weren’t HomeKit-compatible. It’s important to note that Meross does sell HomeKit-compatible plugs but they also sell some that are not, so pay attention. Matter should help fix this problem but for now, pay attention when you buy!
Call for Help
As I’ve mentioned a few times, Steve and I are going to Antarctica on January 17th, so Bart and Allister are doing the shows while we’re gone. I really truly need you to send in recordings before we leave to help them do the shows. They’re doing us a huge favor by doing the shows so please help them out. You must have gotten some cool tech over the holidays, right? Do a recording on what you got and why you like it. A script for a blog post with links and such really makes it great for everyone. We will likely have zero Internets while on the ship to Antarctica, so you have to send them ahead of time! I thank you in advance for your contributions.
That’s going to wind this up for this week. Did you know you can email me at [email protected] any time you like? If you have a question or a suggestion just send it on over. You can follow me on Twitter at @podfeet and you can find me on Mastodon at @[email protected].
