NC #949 Smartish Cable Wrangler, 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charger, Spurtar Emergency Charger, Marty on Pixel Fold

Hi, this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Apple Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Friday, July 14, 2023, and this is show number 949.

Next week is Macstock so there will be NO LIVE SHOW on 23 July 2023. I’m not sure yet if I’ll get the show out super early on Wednesday of this week, or super late on Tuesday of the following week. In any case, there will be no live show while we’re in Chicago.

Support the Show

Last week during the live show, something awesome happened. @WabbitMagic joined in the fun for the first time. That’s not the awesome part. Well, it’s one awesome part. But the other awesome part is that they signed up to become the newest Patron of the Podfeet Podcasts right while we were recording! How awesome is that? I learned a second awesome thing from the live audience – did you know Patreon now takes Apple Pay?

If you’d like to be awesome like WabbitMagic, join in the fun of the live show and head over to podfeet.com/patreon and pledge your support for the show.

Marty Jencius on the Pixel Fold (no blog post)

Marty Jencius joins me to give us his impressions of the Pixel Fold. He’s been an iPhone user but he gets bored with technology and bought a Pixel 7, and has now bought the Pixel Fold. If you’d like to hear more from Marty, he runs the Circular Firing Podcast which is he and his fellow professor counselors have fascinating discussions about their work and how they teach.

You can contact Marty through Mastodon at @[email protected].

Hi Allison, I listened to your comment about Apple Notes inability to export, have you tried http://writeapp.net/notesexporter/
This will only export as text and is confused by links but could be worth a look?

    Cheers

Hey Bryan – My first thought was, “Oh cool, lemme go try that!” But then I realized the site isn’t secure. And it’s just a link on a web page from an unknown developer. And if I go to the top level of writeapp.net and try to see the download from the App Store for iPad of Write, it gets a 404 error. And I started thinking do i want this app having access to my content in Notes? Maybe not?

Hi Allison, my apologies sending you to a dodgy site. I’ve tried the method in the link below and transferred a note into a rich text format doc on my iPad successfully. Hope that helps

    Regards
    Bryan
