CES 2024: INNOPHYS Muscle Suit

Allison interviews Yaji Yu from INNOPHYS about their Muscle Suit wearable exoskeleton. The Muscle Suit is an assistive suit that helps lighten the load on your back as you lift and move heavy objects. The Muscle Suit is strapped around your shoulders, chest, waist, and thighs and it takes about 10 seconds to put on. Once donned, you use the air pump provided to pump up the suit which provides the air pressure needed to lighten lifting loads. The Muscle Suit can provide up to 27 kg (60 lbs) of support force as you lift an object. Although it is not designed to lift objects heavier than you would ordinary lift, it does help to minimize fatigue and potential back injuries as you lift heavy objects. It is most useful in the fields of nursing care, farming, manufacturing, construction, and other labor-intensive situations. The Muscle Suit is available in several versions to cover a wide range of workplace jobs and applications.
