Chit Chat Across the Pond Lite logo Two interlocking ribbons, one red, one blue. The word Lite is across the logo in a playful font. The podfeet (two little bare feet) are in the upper right. The background is dark blue with Chat and Chat in the upper left and lower right corners with "across the pond" in thin letter across the bottom. Sounds more confusing than it is!

CCATP #591 — Kaylee Dayo on Building JavaScript Games to Teach English in Japan

Kaylee is an English language teacher at primary schools in Japan. But she doesn’t just whip out a dusty old grammar book and drone on about when to use a gerund! She has mad programming and maker skills and she puts them to use in engaging the children. She has reproduced 1980s TV game shows all written in JavaScript, and then hacks old iPhone 4s to be used as game controllers. It’s a terrific conversation that often goes off the rails and her enthusiasm for the games and her respect for the children she teaches is infectious.

You can find Kaylee’s tech podcast in your podcatcher of choice as Zettai Geek Dayo or go to www.platypuspodcasts.com/…
