Before we get started, I have an announcement to make. There will be NO LIVE SHOW next week, the 10th of April. Steve and I are going to visit his sister in Arizona, and while we’re there we get to meet up with the most awesome Bodie Grimm of the Kilowatt podcast. We’re super excited to meet Bodie for the first time, and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if one or more recordings happened as a result.

I’m not sure if I’ll publish the show super early, like maybe Thursday of this week, or make you wait till Tuesday of the following week when I get back. I’ll do my best to try to get it out early but no promises!

Speaking of the live show, Steve is producing from his brand new M1 Max Mac Studio! He doesn’t have his Studio Display yet so he’s not really set up quite yet but he decided to give it a try. I don’t want to jinx the show but so far he describes using the Mac Studio for production as “It’s like buttah!”

The Cost-Mart in Kasketchewan Mac Geek Gab 922

I have big news! I was a guest on the Mac Geek Gab for show 922 which comes out on Monday April 4th. Dave Hamilton and John F. Braun have not had guests as a rule, other than Pilot Pete whose been on the show many times. I can count on one hand the number of times they’ve had guests before so it was quite the thrill when Dave asked me to join. We had an absolute blast and Dave said he’d like to have me back. I love the Mac Geek Gab so it’s a real honor to have had this opportunity. The only downside is that now I don’t have a Mac Geek Gab to look forward to this week! I hope you’ll go check out the Mac Geek Gab in your podcatcher of choice.

Watch ScreenCastsOnline Tutorial about Folge for Free!

Last week I told you about the advances the tutorial guides software Folge had made and I teased you that I had a video tutorial coming about Folge for ScreenCastsOnline. The good news is that it’s been published, but I have even better news. Don McAllister has announced that he’s no longer going to ask for credit card details to do the 7-day free trial, and instead, he has set up a “Free Membership” option. In his words:

This new feature allows people to try out a limited subset of the ScreenCastsOnline content on the website, without the need to share their credit card information. If they wish to become members after a while, they can then sign up for a full membership.

This “Free Membership” will be quite limited compared to the full membership. There will be no access to the SCO Members app or the SCO Magazine and you’ll be limited to one free full-length tutorial and one shorter tip tutorial, but it’s a great way to see if you get the value out of the tutorials at ScreenCastsOnline.

I think this is a great development, and I’m even more delighted that he decided to make my Folge tutorial the first of the free episodes you can get with a Free Membership to ScreenCastsOnline!

So hurry over to screencastsonline.com/… and sign up for a free membership and watch my awesome tutorial about Folge.

Making the NosillaCastAway Shanty

I love the segment Steve did here because I honestly did not know how he created our official NosillaCastaway Shanty. It sounds like it was a lot of work but he was inspired when his creative juices got flowing. It reminds me of when he figured out how to play the theme song to the movie Beverly Hills Cop, “Axel F”, by pecking out the notes on an on-screen piano keyboard on our 512K Mac around 1984! This was really cool, Steve!

Support the Show

I’m happy to announce that I finally turned off the old and busted podfeet.com so I’m not still paying for two full web servers. Even better that meant I was able to cancel my cPanel subscription which was costing me $15/month. I’m still carrying all of the new servers of course, but they’re doing such great work I am delighted to pay those increased costs.

I would like to thank all of the amazing Patrons who help me come closer to breaking even on the creation of the NosillaCast, Programming By Stealth, and Chit Chat Across the Pond Lite. If you’d like to help cover the costs of creating these shows for you, please consider going over to podfeet.com/patreon and choosing a per show amount or a monthly limit to demonstrate the value you get from our content. We now return you to our regularly-scheduled programming.
