CCATP #726 – Bart Busschots on Email on Your Own Domain

When you listen to this episode, towards the end you’ll hear Bart describing the final list of steps to take to get email on your own domain. As he lists the steps by number, you’ll hear me correct him and say step 5 instead of step 4 as he says. We go back and forth, both accusing the other of changing the shownotes, and we give up and move on. After we were done recording, we discovered what happened, and it’s kind of interesting. Bart writes in Markdown in an app called Byword. He mistakenly put two #2 steps in his list. I copy his Markdown and paste it into MarsEdit, my blogging platform. It turns out that MarsEdit saw the incorrect syntax and thought, oh silly Bart, you really meant the steps to be sequential and renumbered them in the render of the Markdown. MarsEdit was very clever but it sure confused us for a while!

Support the Show

This week I’d like to thank two people for their support of the show. Every six months or so, Kenneth Kleinman goes to podfeet.com/paypal and donates a generous amount to help keep the microphones live at the Podfeet Podcasts. This was one of those months. Chris Blaine has been a long-time contributor using Patreon, and this week they went to podfeet.com/patreon and raised their pledge by 50%. How cool is that? If you’ve been listening to the shows we make here for a while and get benefit from them, and enjoy an ad-free listening experience, I would be delighted if you’d find a way to show that appreciation like Kenneth and Chris.
