The show I’m recording right now is the last live show before our great European vacation. I’ll be publishing a show on Thursday before we leave, then the venerable Allister Jenks will be hosting the show for the weekend of August 16th. Jill, Bart, and Allister have all worked their microphone magic, giving him plenty of content.
We think there will be spillover for me for the show on August 23rd, the day after we come back. On the 23rd, there will be a live show, but I won’t be doing too much talking. Probably napping, but the cameras and microphones will be live.
I better get started because we have great content and a great Security Bits that includes a super deep dive into what happened between OpenAI’s model breaking containment and getting into Hugging Face’s network. It’s fantastic, but this is a super long show as a result!

I had a great week. Pat Dengler let me help her figure out where to put her HVAC system in the app Under My Roof, my friend Diane let me help her get her portable Viewsonic USB-C display configured to show up on the correct side of her Mac, and David Roth and I had a play date so I could help him make a pivot table in a giant data set he wanted to understand.
But my favorite was when friend and NosillaCastaway Rally Barnard needed help printing the export of a packing mind map, and instead of just answering his email, I called him on the phone to help him unravel the complex path he was on. When we were done, he said, “Gee, after this personalized support, I’d better add a nickel to what I already contribute through Patreon to help you pay for that extra bot protection you’re paying for through Cloudflare!”
