NC #634 Ring Doorbell Mirror Mod, MacTracker for Resale Price, Mouse User Confession, New New 12.9″ iPad Pro

Steve and I put our engineering heads together to modify the Ring Video Doorbell so we can actually see the doorstep. In another Tiny Tip, I explain how you can use Mactracker with bidvoy to figure out how at what price your Apple device might sell. Steve Sheridan comes in with a confession of how he actually likes the Magic Trackpad better than his mouse (and says I was right). I talk about the new new 12.9″ iPad Pro and how happy I am to have it back in my life.

Hi this is Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Mac Podcast, hosted at Podfeet.com, a technology geek podcast with an EVER so slight Apple bias. Today is Sunday July 2, 2017 and this is show number 634.

Chit Chat Across the Pond

I had the best time on Chit Chat Across the Pond this week. My guest was Kelly Guimont, contributing editor to the Mac Observer and also a volunteer at App Camp for Girls, founded by our good friend Jean MacDonald. Kelly explains how the concept of a camp just for 8-9th grade girls to learn to code came about, how they got it launched and how it actually works. To give you an idea of the kind of conversations we had, there will be a point where we discuss the relative merits of talking to ducks, garden gnomes and turtles. Also there are hula hoops and snacks. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did, you can find the conversation in the Chit Chat Across the Pond or Chit Chat Across the Pond Lite feeds in your podcatcher of choice, or at the link in the show notes.

Patreon and Amazon

I want to give a big shout out to Rob Pither for being our newest patron of the Podfeet Podcasts. That’s just fun to say, right? Rob found value in the content and wanted to help so he went to podfeet.com/patreon and elected to contribute a small dollar amount every month to support the shows. I think Patreon is a terrific model because you as a contributor are 100% in control of how much you spend. The only way the number changes is if I don’t do a show, and that only makes it go down. I feel such joy that so many of you have found enough value in the show to contribute as much as you have. Thanks Rob!
